WV Senior Elks Tournament

August 18, 2008

The 2008 WV Elks Senior Golf Tournament concluded Sunday, August 17th. Champion Bob Davis won the 3 day event for the fifth consecutive year. Bob is from Lewisburg and serves as a great champion for the tournament. Finishing 2nd and 3rd overall were Hinton natives Darrell Mann and Pat Jordan. Sixty-nine Elks from throughout the state participated. Thirty Hinton Elks and the staff of WillowWood Country Club deserve a great thanks for a job well done in the preparation and work during the tournament. This years tournament marked the 22nd straight year that the Hinton Elks hosted this successful event.

The Hinton Elks were the original founders of the WV Elks Golf Tournament now held in Lewisburg and was also the founder of this Senior Elks Golf Tournament and with hopes of becoming the founder of the State Lady Elks Golf Tournament.

Initiation

August 25, 2008

The next initiation will be held September 16, 2008 at 8pm at WillowWood Country Club. A dinner will be held at 6pm in honor of the 21 new members to be initiated. Also District Deputy, Roy Cowan, from Charleston will make his official visit. Please try to attend to show your support to our incoming members.

Remember the last Saturday of each month is birthday party for everyone born in that month. Come and celebrate your birthday. The next party will be August 30, 2008 at 7pm.

Hinton Elks are gearing up for the big college and professional football seasons with specials on food and drink during the games, so come and cheer for your favorite team.
