WV Senior Elks Golf Tournament --- August 16-19, 2012
Mark your calendar for August 16, 17, 18, and 19. (Thursday thru Sunday). We welcome
you to Willow Wood Country Club for a golfing good time. The Hinton Elks will again host the
West Virginia Senior Elks Golf Championship. As usual we have planned some great meals and great golfing. Best of all is the opportunity to get together with old and new friends.
West Virginia Elks in good standing and at least 50 years of age (or will turn 50 this year), you can play in this tournament. Our Tournament Chairmen are Ed Yates and Rusty Lowry.
The schedule is as follows:
THURSDAY- Practice Round. We hope you can call for a tee time so we will have your
cart ready for you. On Thursday evening we will have our Weekly Sundowner and you are
invited to join us for only $7.00 per person. This is a Captain’s Choice format.
FRIDAY-Tournament Begins. We will again be serving Bloody Marys or whatever you like
to get going. The evening meal will be at 7:00 PM and it will be a Country Menu.
SATURDAY-Tournament Day 2-Golf-Dinner at 7:00 PM (bring your spouse or lady friend at
no cost). After dinner we will have the flights set for the Sunday Championship.
SUNDAY-Tournament Final Day-Champions will be announced.

Saturday, Aug 18 Ribeye steak, baked potato, green beans, salad, desert
Breakfast sandwiches will be offered on a limited basis each morning
TEE OFF FOR THE BOOKMOBILE
The June 23, 2012, Willow Wood Country Club golf tournament fund-raiser for the Summers County Friends of the Library was a big success! Proceeds from the tournament will be used to support the newly acquired Bookmobile that makes regular runs to all parts of Summers County, sharing books with adults and children who cannot get to the library downtown.

Willow Wood Country Club is home of the Hinton Elks Lodge No. 821. Situated along the Greenbrier River in scenic Summers County, West Virginia, Willowwood is 1 mile off WV State Routes 3 & 12 on Rt 13, Willow Wood Road. Heading East from Historic Hinton, you travel approximately 7 miles, cross the Greenbrier River and turn left onto Willow Wood Road. The beautiful lodge building has a full-service bar and grill. It also houses a banquet/meeting room that is available for your next event. Willow Wood makes a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding. The staff accomodate a variety of receptions.
Legendary professional golfer, Slammin' Sam Snead called Willow Wood his home practice course. The tight fairways offered him challenges in honing his championship swing.
Willow Wood hosts events throughout the year on the course and in the clubhouse.
